Topic- Awareness about the Commerce stream

One day Online Career counselling session was organized by Ashish Ranjan Singh on 20^th November for Std 11^th and 12^th Commerce  Students to make them aware about various opportunities and trends in the field of Commerce after Graduation. He gave a brief introduction about the various opportunities and scope in the field of Commerce and Business Economics. He suggested varied ways that how to opt the career in one’s life depending on the capabilities and potential. He talked about how to focus on the chosen career and what are the efforts to be put in to make that dream true. He explained by giving examples of various successful people, that how they achieved the status in spite of having lack of facilities and financial support. He also encouraged us on choosing the field we’re interested in rather than allowing somebody else .We should choose the subject and area in which we’re genuinely interested and only then we will be able to succeed and make a name for ourselves.

Our noted speaker opened up a plethora of career options for our students and answered any and all queries that they had regarding the confusion of career planning. Mr. Ashish Ranjan Singh also extended his helping hand and provided the students with his boundless knowledge that he gained in his 10 years experience. Questions of all types from all kinds of backgrounds were asked in the seminar and our speaker was more than happy to answer them all. Also, not just the different career options available were discussed, but also the procedure and preparations for the same were also told to the students. Overall, it was an insightful event with both the speaker and students leaving satiated. He also said that the scenario has changed, more students are proactively choosing commerce field without having hesitation of academic standing. Over the past decade, the commerce sector has witnessed drastic changes, putting forward new policies in the economic and business sector that has opened job opportunities in accounting, banking, auditing, and finance sectors. If you have better analytical and logical skills, the sky is the limit. Many Indian services like IRS, IAS, and IFS are recruiting commerce students with a good pay scale

even for entry-level positions. Career counselling would be an eye-opener for selecting a successful career path for the commerce students. He also discussed about the Types of Entrance Exams.

Branches available for higher education in commerce fields are immense. Since more students are choosing commerce as their 12th stream, it raises high competition in this field. Most of the colleges and universities are following competitive entrance exams for admission procedure. It is not hard as you think, hard-work and an efficient study plan help you to crack these exams. Before making the plan, you should have detailed knowledge about the following topics:-

• Different types of exams
• Exam pattern
• Courses offered
• Qualifying exams of different institutions

He also discussed about the top colleges of Commerce Stream after 12^th.

The College also offers you a wide variety ofextracurricular activities. Hence you have an open arena to decide for your own “character in the play”. The education of a child needs a perpetuity in mentoring, hence guidance is often solicited to their growth and development in a complex society that we are living in today. But please make sure that “A successful journey is always unique and designed by the traveler (you) himself and not imposed on you”.

Conclusion -There are many careers in commerce as opportunities in accounts and finance like bachelor of commerce, business management in finance, accountant, banking sector, Economist (bachelor of economics or mathematics & statistics), stock broking, company secretary, Actuarial science, certified financial planner, cost and management accountant, and Certified public accountant.

Gone are the days when career choices were limited to Science, Arts, and Commerce. Students now have a plethora of options to choose from.

Besides conservative engineering, medicine, and accounting, students can now look up to many diverse fields to make a mark. And no more worrying about what the others might be thinking and how much we will earn.
